BANLIEUZ'ARTS OR INITIAITON creation of KADAM-KADAM Theater
MAJ 2019
"Banlieuz'arts", a cosmopolitan creation born from the depths of our traditions where ceremonial and initiatory rites constitute the framework on which its values and uses are based. Ritual theater! theater on stilts! An artistic daring combined with a creative hybrid that molds the taste, pleasure and windfall of a spiritual journey whose destination is "Initiation or BanlieuZ'arts". A look, a questioning; a reflection, an infernal succession of questions ... has Africa ever spoken to you? Have you listened to her, spoken to her, she speaks to you through the stilts that emerge from a ritual from its depths.
A strong story that she writes through paintings composed of canvases illustrating the dance, the songs, the sounds and the rhythms expertly designed to speak about Africa. Banlieuz'arts speaks for itself, it is the mysteries of the depths of Africa.
An initiation evening on the stilts. Hey! well to the wearing of the mask. A universe, a liturgical space of "young people at the age of founding a home". Altars "nawda", "moba", north of Togo, "kpalimé" in southern Togo and Benin. From the thrilling game to the fabulous and irreproachable staging. Mouths ajar from the first to the last third of the show. A brave light design penciled to the reference of the temples initiatory and ceremonial Us and Customs home.
